Apple Jam

Rich amber coloured jam with a hint of lemon makes yummy accompaniment to fresh bread for breakfast. My daughter enjoys it with nice hot chappatis... Easy to prepare and carry in journeys...

Preparation Time : 5 mins.
Cooking Time : 4½ mins.
Makes ½ cup.

1 1/2 cups apple
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
a pinch of cinnamon (optional)


1. Peel and cut apple into small pieces.
2. Heat a heavy bottomed non stick vessel and add the apple and sugar to it.
3. Keep stirring till the sugar is melted and then start smashing the apples too.
4. Keep stirring and cooking until a thick jammy consistency is formed.
5. Add lemon juice and stir again for a minute then add the cinnamon powder mix and remove from heat.
6. Store in a sterlized glass bottle.
